We Are Currently Hiring Dock & Door Technicians
Southeast Michigan | Full-Time, Year-Round
What You'll Do
Service calls, installs, and preventative maintenance for commercial and residential customers, working independently or alongside a small crew.
Installation & Repair
- Install and repair sectional doors, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, fire-rated doors, entry door systems, and residential garage doors
- Install and service loading dock equipment: levelers, seals and shelters, bumpers, and vehicle restraints
- Set and adjust frames, tracks, springs, cables, and hardware to manufacturer specs
- Install, wire, and program commercial operators, openers, access control, and safety sensors
- Tension torsion springs safely and test every door for balance, smooth operation, and safety function before leaving the site
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on operators, access systems, motors, controls, and safety sensors
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Solve problems in the field
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled safety inspections, lubricate moving parts, and calibrate systems
- Identify worn components before they fail and flag them to the customer
Customer Service:
- Explain repair options, provide pricing estimates, collect payments, and complete digital or paper work orders.
What We're Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools
- Solid spatial reasoning, basic math, and accurate tape measure reading
- Clear verbal communication and a customer-first attitude
- Reliability and the ability to work without being micromanaged
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior experience with overhead doors, dock equipment, carpentry, or electrical work
- Familiarity with brands like Dock & Door installation and maintenance
- AAADM, IDEA, or DHI certification
- Experience with field service
No door experience? Apply anyway. If you're mechanically inclined, dependable, and willing to learn, we'll train you.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Regularly lift and carry 75 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing with limited opportunity to sit
- Work from ladders and lifts at height
- Work outdoors in all Michigan weather conditions, and in industrial environments
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, standard daytime hours
- Overtime available; occasional evening, weekend, and on-call emergency service as needed
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience

- Must pass a background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
